Digologist is a 2D top-down digging game where you pilot a remote mining machine beneath the ground looking for resources and discovering the riches hidden beneath.

A cataclysmic event reshaped the world, resources are now mainly underground and governments control access to these resources. As an unlicensed digologist, your objective is simple: dig, extract resources, and push deeper. Use what you collect to upgrade your crawler and push deeper.

But be careful, it is not an easy environment to exist in. There are many dangers and the governments won't let you get to the good stuff easily, after all, you're operating outside of their frameworks.

Controls:

The crawler can be controlled using the different controls (levers and dials) available in the UI offering a more "closer to reality" approach to piloting it. It also offers a more convenient way to handle the crawler.

There are three main controls:

  • The steering dial, clicking and rotating it will turn the crawler. However for easier controls you can use A and D after you enable that (checkbox at top right).
  • The throttle lever, clicking and dragging to different speeds. For easier controls you can use W and S after you enable the checkbox.
  • The laser intensity, clicking and rotating the dial will change the laser intensity settings. For easier controls after enabling the checkbox you can use the mousewheel.
  • Tether will hook a resource to the crawler (E)
  • Untether will unhook a resource (hold E).
  • Pressing "Tab" at the base will open the interaction menu (talking with NPCs, upgrading and maintenance).

I ran out of energy and now I'm stuck inches away from the safe zone. What do I do?

Sorry about that, unfortunately you're soft locked. Only way to do that is reset the game (I think the debug key "O" does that and is still active in this build). It is a bug left over because I forgot to activate the mechanic for retrieving your crawler if it loses energy in the sectors. It is implemented, just not activated for this scenario.

So this game is locked in hardcore mode, noted.
